Henry and Christina arrived in Australia on board the ship 'Herder' in
1851 at the Port of Adelaide. The 'Herder departed from Bremen in
Germany. On February 6, 1866 Walters discovered the murder of two young
children (drowned in a tub of water by their mother. He reported this
incident to the Magistrate, the Coroner and the Police at the Reef (now
known as Adelong).

Henry was much liked in the Adelong N.S.W. area and was referred to as
"Valters". He died at Mt Adrah (near Adelong) on Tuesday 3 February
1891 while he was grubbing briars. An inquest was held on 5 February
1891 and the cause of death was determined to have been a ruptured
heart.
