Born in 1799, William was sentenced to 7 years transportation to the 
colony of NSW in 1818, at the tender age of 18 years. He was 
transported on the 'Morley 2' which departed from Downs on 18 July 1818
and, after 112 days at sea, arrived in the colony on 7 November 1818. 
In 1828 William was noted in the NSW Census as having been Freed by 
Servitude and at the time being in the employ, as a labourer, of Henry
Wrensford at "Airds", religion being protestant.
 
William married Jane Kingsbury nee Davis in 1834 at Campbelltown. Jane
had been married once before, to a James Kingsbury, this previous 
marriage having taken place on 25 May 1825 at St Peter's Campbelltown.
 
William and Jane had eight children, four of these predeceasing William
, who died on 22 May 1886. William is buried at the Adelong Cemetery, 
Adelong, NSW. The cause of William's death was senile decay, a 
condition that had been with him for twelve months prior to death.
